A six-minute setting of text from Psalm 124 and 126, for SATB chorus and orchestra, premiered by the Phoenix Symphony Chorus, spring 2015 (as heard in rehearsal, in recording above).  This piece will be performed in Carnegie Hall in January 2016, conducted by Dr. Jo-Michael Scheibe. An opening chorale gives way to a fughetta section, before eventually the two combine and are presented simultaneously.

TEXT:

If it had not been the LORD who was on our side,
may all His people now say, when men rose up against us:
Our hope is in the Name of the LORD who made heaven and earth.

When the LORD returned us again to our people,
we were like them that dream.
Then was our mouth filled with laughter,
and our tongue with singing.
Then said they among the nations,
The LORD has done great things,
we are filled with joy!
