May be performed a cappella, or with keyboard accompaniment, or with chamber ensemble and organ, small orchestra and organ, or full orchestra. Designed to be as flexible as possible for performance in any situation. Originally written to be performed at the close (or encore) of a concert featuring any of Dan’s major works (Requiem, Jubilate Deo, LUX), it can also close other concerts, or be used in a variety of ways in concerts or worship services. Its text, “Non nobis, Domine, non nobis; sed nomine tuo da gloriam”, is the well-known Latin translation of Psalm 115:1: “Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us; but to your name be the glory.”
