2018 begins a new self-publishing venture from The Music of Dan Forrest, for Dan’s concert music. (Church music will continue to be published with Beckenhorst Press, and all of Dan’s previously published Hinshaw Music pieces are still fully in print, available, and supported). Going forward, Dan’s new self-published music will be distributed by Beckenhorst Press, sold through the Beckenhorst Press website and other participating music retailers. Look for Dan’s new major work LUX in early 2018, as well as some other smaller pieces throughout the year.

Dan’s Requiem and Jubilate Deo continue to be widely performed in the United States and around the world, with no less than 10 Carnegie Hall performances just in spring 2018, with various conductors.

Upcoming commissions include a new Christmas carol setting, a new folk song setting, a work for the Atlanta Master Chorale, a work for the US Air Force Academy band, various church and university commissions in the US and abroad, and a significant new work for Bel Canto (Greensboro, NC).

Dan will teach again for the John Ness Beck Foundation in summer 2018, but in an invitation-only mentoring environment, rather than a workshop setting. Regular Composers’ Workshops will resume in 2019.
